HELP US GROW

The New York alumni chapter is made up of alumni from all walks of life. In order to best reach-out to our entire alumni population, we've created committees that serve as a valuable resource in helping to plan events, research programming ideas, and shape the club's agenda. Our six committees cover a range of programming interests and are as follows:

Works with both the University and alumni communities to bring distinguished speakers to the club. In the past this committee has hosted book signings, professor lectures, and industry-specific alumni panels.

Sponsors engaging service projects in and around Manhattan and encourages alumni participation in other service opportunities locally. This committee often promotes the work of UVA alumni working for non-profit organizations.

Helps the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with their efforts to recruit New York students by attending college nights at local high schools, by serving on panels at admissions information sessions, and by making congratulatory phone calls to accepted students.

Coordinates trips to see UVA teams compete locally, organizes events to watch UVA games with other Wahoo fans at Proof, located at 239 3rd Ave between 19th and 20th Sts. This committee also hosts intramural sports like softball in Central Park.

Plans social events ranging from Sotheby's art browses and tours of Gracie Mansion to sushi and sake tastings and all-ACC happy hours.

Identifies potential new members and develops methods to promote chapter and clubhouse membership among area alumni.
